Hi, this is your Monday morning wake up ping to let you know I am enjoying my Gather friends!
Today is my birthday. I don't like it much to be having another one but it is better than the alternative. Went to dinner and summer theater in a small, nearby town and picked out a leather hobo purse in a store that specializes in cowboy boots. I was supposed to pick out boots since I'm a shoe fanatic but I'm also pragmatic and I'm not the cowboy boot sort. The bag has a secret compartment for my concealed weapon. Since I don't care for guns much, I was asked what was I going to put in there. Silly man -- my credit cards, of course!
Red and orange zinnias, blueberries and peaches were the highlight from the farmer's market. I'll try to post a picture. Did I mention that we are painting? Yes. One room has led to another which is turning into the whole house.

Hi Lisa..just sending you a quick ping to check in and see how your enjoying our NY summer! UGH!! what happened to our warm weather? Fall will be here soon enough, and its my favorite season...i had an email recently from an aquaintence who was a former NY'er and had an awful lot of negative comments to say about us, but hes a very negative man and you have to consider the source...I have missed having a hot and dry summer, but there is no place like Buffalo NY!! Only want the people who want to be here ;)
Hi, Lisa! I am not very good at this ping and blog stuff but wanted to know if you are still teaching? I start back in 3 days and am so bummed! I only this summer discovered ARCs and writing reviews and have gotten such a great response and love it so much. I want to do it at home full time in some capacity for pay working out of my home eventually. I only have this year left to teach or could actually retire in Dec. I teach 6th grade Gifted Reading and they added 6th grade Gifted Geography this year. I love working with the kids but after 35 years, am just ready to move on! What do you teach? I know I won't "ping" often especially going back to work but wanted to say hello! Karen (Kanellio)
